Novocaine 2025
Novocaine was painful to sit through in the right ways, specifically with the premise that never nevers pulls back its punches. Frequent cases of charming optimism and cluelessness from Jack Quaid’s “good guy” demeanor made him a delightful leading man. Although, the digestible storyline between the hero and damsel was as safe as I admittedly thought it’d be. It’s fine when it never planned to reinvent the wheel, yet it’s hard to give the lukewarm romance a pass, given how importantly it’s treated. Far from a game-changer, but hilarious, barbaric and a rare case of originality within the current majority of popcorn action cinema.

Babylon 2022
I think Babylon has literally become one of my favorite films ever, as it strived at becoming a cinematic love/hate letter to Hollywood while being a reminder (or even a wake-up call) on how culturally impactful the art of filmmaking has always been from the very beginning. The electrifying score by Justin Hurwitz and the downright chaotically-bold attitude made it such a spectacle of so many things, which is unlike anything I’ll ever see again. Mark my words when I say that this’ll have the potential to be so much more appreciated in the future of cinema. It’s undoubtedly my favorite film of 2022.

Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical 2005
I really loved the concept and its background of how this musical came to be, even though I didn’t really laugh at any of the jokes or thought any of the songs were catchy. Such a shame when this looked like something I’d adore.
