  I enjoyed this but I kinda would have liked to see a version of this movie where the main character is not plucked above the rabble and explores the topic of assimilation and revulsion towards Jewish immigrants from the perspective of the many, many Jews who were proletarianized by nazism. The movie we got wants respectable American society to recognize the Jews rightful place in its good graces, with a hint of shame towards the history it says nooo we are…
