  Prompt 28: Watch a mockumentary

  I feel like this has to be one of the originators of the now favorite mockumentary genre. A lot of fun and got a bunch of laughs out of me. Watched with my dad and he was knocked out in the first ten minutes which gives absolutely zero insight into the quality of the film.

  Only my second Kore-eda, but a significant jump up. Maborosi stilly leads into quiet contemplation. Kore-eda tells so very little of the emotional depths we watch his characters experience while he illustrates and accompanies with shot after shot of beguiling image and captivating landscape. Subtly powerful and masterful in both sound and visuals, this film carries a depth of soul that offers no simple solutions or sentimentality but a consistent dignifying of humanity.
