This movie is really good. It is incredibly fresh and follows a much different rythym than typical mystery movies. The plot is intriguing and multi-faceted. I love the characters and the execution. One of my favorite mystery films of all time.

Planet of the Apes 1968
Its been a long time since I saw this movie last. It's definitely my favorite in the series. The philisophical meaning behind the story hits a lot harder now I'm older. Damn.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends- 2022
This is how you do character development. What the two leads experience in this film is a proper culmination of the events of the show and their respective character arcs, and not just relating to the romance aspects. The new perspective on the last season finale is perfect and actually addresses real character struggles and growth. The specific behaviors each of them exhibit is very accurate to real life and I happen to relate to both at a level not often explored in similar shows / movies.

I will probably return to this much later, after a second watching.
For now, all I can say is that between the three recent and popular Makoto Shinkai films (Your Name, Weathering with You, and Suzume), each one could be called my favorite for different reasons. While the earlier two may hit harder from an emotional, poetic, and grand perspective, this film hits closer to home for personal reasons.
