  Punch-Drunk Love 2002

  Am I missing something here? 

  Kind of touching and relatable at times, Philip Seymour Hoffman is great per usual in his limited screen time, Sandler tries but his character is annoying to the point where I almost turned this off more than once which I think was the point but damn he was really testing my patience. Really absurd with no discernible plot. Can’t believe Paul Thomas Anderson would go from this nonsense to two of the greatest films of all time as his subsequent works. Didn’t really like it overall but has some positives I guess.

  The Usual Suspects 1995

  Used to love this movie as a teenager but I haven’t watched it in probably 10 years. Happy to say it holds up. Kevin Spacey is so good, a real weirdo but very very talented. The rest of the cast is similarly excellent. Moves at a breakneck pace, the plot can get a little incoherent at times but the ending makes it all work.

  For some reason I’ve never watched this until now. Completely blew me away emotionally. Cried like a child at the end, holy shit. Absurd behavior from me. Immediately after watching it I was hit with this immense feeling of sadness that I’ll never get to watch this for the first time again. 

  One of the best movies ever made, the message is timeless and really is something I needed to hear. Unreal.
