I felt the film did not have enough conflict given its runtime. Why is it 2 hours and not 90 minutes? Oh well. Kind of like a first draft or something.
Regardless it was entertaining enough. I felt it could have been directed more dynamically it would’ve saved from the funkiness of the script, but Farelly relies too heavily on wide shots. I don’t know why. Still, I enjoyed the premise and performances.

The first half is incredible, fairly straightforward but beautiful film. It’s perfect.
The second half is bizarre, and I think I mean that in a good way. Viewing it as separate from the first half is a detrimental to the film - it’s one big vision, that happens to be separated by an intermission - but the film sours into truly weird territory at a point.

Excellent action movie. It does make the aliens seem a lot less scary in comparison to the first film for a number of reasons - less mysterious, seemingly easier to kill, an abundance of them. However I think it works in the context of the film, and as a sequel it is inventive and entertaining
