  The greatest mystery of this film is why Tommy is friends with Jeff, a world-class shit. Overall, I got what I want from a Vincente Minnelli movie: a cool soundstage set and a lot to look at. He was very good at this thing.

  I somehow had not seen this, even though it stars Bob Uecker and was filmed at Milwaukee County Stadium. My parents watched this in one theater while I watched something for kids in another theater. 

  It’s better than I expected. Charming, if dated. Wesley Snipes is always a delight and it’s easy these days to forget there was a time when Charlie Sheen was charismatic and funny.
