The movie started off a little slow for me, however it fully grabbed my attention at the inciting incident and I was invested for the rest of the film. The trailer did a good job of not giving away too much of the plot, which I really appreciated.
I will admit, that I am being a bit generous with the rating, however others have been very dismissive. I don't think it's fair to judge this movie along the same lines…
Honestly was not excited about this. Didn't expect to like it. My buddy is a huge Batman fan so I watched it for him, to discuss later, and was surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Would I enjoy it as much if the previous iteration didn't exist, and it broke those expectations? I can't answer that. I'm giving this 3 and a half stars, but not because it's an excellent movie. Some of the dialogue is atrocious! But... it's visually entertaining, it's upbeat fun and I just enjoy Swamp Thing! Plus there's this awkward scene where Swampy breaks a cucumber off himself to feed to Heather Locklear, and oddly it comes from around his nether region... This is also a short while after she remarks that she's a vegetarian! Just a fun movie.
