The Usual Suspects 1995
Wow, wow, wow. Epic. Simply epic. Well done to all involved. The number of times I’ve skipped past this film is unforgivable, I ask the director for his apologies. Not only is there a stacked cast, the story is full of twists and turns and it is acted superbly. I’ve seen the ending referenced so many times in pop culture but was too slow to catch on, luckily it still came as a surprise. Exhilarating watch from start to finish, I will be sure to rewatch this. Superb.

I love Michael Keaton! Ed Norton is great in this too. I like the message and the flying scene! Some parts drag a bit, it’s maybe a bit too artsy for me but overall it surprised my expectations

Gladiator II 2024
Was there any need to rip off one of the greatest films of all time? Honestly felt like a cash grab and another miss from Ridley. Regurgitated story line, weak acting from all outside of Denzel, far too much attention placed on Connie Nielsen.
Some of the action scenes hit the mark but the use of CGI throughout was bizarre. A very poor and rushed ending was the final straw. Heard rumours of a gladiator 3 in the works….maybe don’t?

The Godfather 1972
One of those films you hear referenced and raved about constantly, and I’m happy to report it lived up to and even surpassed expectations. I’m almost speechless at how awesome this film was. Brando is immense but I think Pacino may even surpass him. The famous ending was even better than advertised. Near-perfection.
