In another world, Woody Allen could have been known as someone who had really interesting things to say about Jewish religion and identity—especially the trouble of thinking one “has a direct line to God” as he puts it in this movie.

It starts with a pretty bold and plausible thesis: what if a devastating personal experience could translate into a tendency toward reactionary politics?
Andrew lays his premises out neatly, almost as if writing a 5 paragraph essay, before introducing us to the eponymous Kelly, our case study for testing Andrew’s theory. The hour and 15 minutes that follow after this are not what I’d expected from a Channel 5 production or a uniquely talented interviewer like Andrew.

Looks like a shitty TV movie and what would maybe be a “cool” or “unique” score in a better movie is absolute garbage here.
There is nothing thrilling or horrifying about this because everything is over-explained. The most entertaining part was noticing that the bad guy looks like Tim Heidecker and annoying my gf by narrating the movie in a bad French accent.
