  Fuck this was beautiful. Insane chemistry and sexual tension between the two leads:

  "What?"
  "Nothing. Gotta take a piss". That's how they get you - now you're thinking about his dick.

  (I point this moment out because it's so rare that a film seems to capture so exactly something from my own experience that it feels personal, like a shared secret.)

  I wished this was two hours longer, and I confess the abrupt ending, such a weird tonal shift, left me a little flummoxed (though I understand it's symbolic and I do think it's very powerful). But I thought this was pretty wonderful overall, with one of the best music scores I've heard, and a really impressive visual flair. Soulful and evocative.

  "You know... You just sit there doing nothing... Propping up the entire world."

  A beautiful film that's first and foremost about love, and the complex moral and emotional and human issues it explores second. Colin Firth's best performance to date, and Stanley Tucci natural and easy and the perfect counterpoint to all the inner, suppressed feelings and emotions. The screenplay breathes life. Heartfelt, warm, thoughtful, quietly stunning.
