review forthcoming lol

visceral! everyone already gushes about how good this film is so I won’t pile on, but I will say. It has a way of staying with you long after you’ve left the theatre. I’ve been out of the screening for maybe an hour now and I’m still shaken by it. There’s this looming sense of anxiety and sadness that I can’t seem to shake. I’m not upset at it, though. Is that not the whole point of filmmaking? 

P.S. there is nothing like a teen girl’s devotion. lol.

since moving in with Hana I have become very sensitive to random references to Balkan stereotypes in western media…………but this is still kind of an all time classic. #don’tbustamove #tilyou’reinthegroove

Also, in retrospect, soooo many strange relationships in this movie. like who is anyone to anyone else? why are we all so familiar? can everyone just take 3 steps back?

deeply fun, deeply evil as well. also sean baker needs to go back to his roots bc this film about sex workers unfortunately doesn’t do too great a job of seeking to understand them like his other movies.

still extremely enjoyable and all of the actors are compelling! I just don’t think he quite understands what he was trying to say and you know sean, sometimes I do that too.
