  This was a really fun one buoyed by 3 great central performances.

  Hugh Grant is of course really good and deserves his plaudits, but Sophie Thatcher has really jumped out to me between this and Companion. She’s really excellent and I hope she continues to ascend because I think she’s got it. Fun to see Topher Grace show up too. 

  First half I liked a lot more than the second, as it has to execute an actual plot and unravel…

  The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat 2024

  I remember when this was supposed to be an awards contender and then it was unceremoniously dumped on Hulu, and I see why now. 

  Good performances but so all over the place tonally it is a pretty strange watching experience. I think using constant flashbacks and flashforwards is not helpful to this movie. 

  First half I liked, but second half dragged on and was one traumatic thing happening to the stars after another, before an out of place joke would be slotted in to ruin any tone that was being set. 

  Should’ve been shorter and mostly chronological.

  Let me first just say thank goodness the “twist” isn’t that they’re eating humans. That is so boring and played out nowadays.

  Secondly, this movie is absolutely unhinged and a great time making fun of the Uber rich/pretentious. We all know someone who is annoying about food. 

  Finally, this doesn’t work without Ralph Fiennes. Once again great at being intimidating as he is in most of his roles but is also very strange in this as well. When he quoted MLK I lost my shit

  Hard to even review this without going like “wow remember when this cool thing happened? Then THIS sick thing happened? But then they did THAT and it was awesome too”

  Great action movie that’s elevated by just making every part of it stylized as possible. A great end(?) to one of the most fun franchises of the 21st century
