The climax of the movie was extremely boring and drawn out. De Niro is still De Niro though so I’ll take it. Interesting history piece as someone who doesn’t know too much about mob history.

Alex Garland really likes his closeups of foliage at low aperture.
America in civil war as a backdrop to a great story about violence, desensitization, the disconnect of journalists to the world around them almost seems lazy in retrospect. Who needs a well built narrative around why the characters are in the situation they're in besides what amounts to a click-baity backdrop?
Do I think this movie would have made 100 million dollars had it been about a civil war…
