    Mortal Sins

    This movie opens with a scene of a coke-snorting Korean televangelist getting shot while laughing at his own sermon on TV. Sadly, it's all downhill after that as we're introduced to the main character, a private dick who also happens to be a regular dick, constantly making Seinfeld-ish wisecracks at the least appropriate moments and doing absolutely nothing to investigate the murder, which is supposedly his job. From there it's just a pointless journey that ends with no real resolution…

    This is much more of an art film than I would usually watch, but it pulled me in. It is seriously intense, and it's one of those films that makes you want to keep watching even though it's rather unpleasant to do so.

    More dated subject matter from the Three Stooges, but at least everyone gets made fun of equally - the American colonists are made to look stupid and the Native Americans are made to look stupid, so it’s not that terrible. The Stooges’ faux-old English is hilarious.
