What really bogs this film down is a lack of continuity and the amateur acting. The premise might as well be the same as Paranormal Activity. However, the set up for In Memoriam is much better than P.A. and grabs your attention almost immediately. What's odd is that the dialogue/script and overall premise makes you lose empathy towards the characters. It's too dramatic.
I think there's some genuine genius within the film. It's prescient within the found-footage style of horror and it deserves much more credit than it is given.
