Blade Runner 2049 is arguably Denis Villeneuve's magnum opus even with his elite filmography. I think it's only between this or Dune: Part Two (wait til I rewatch Arrival), with both sci-fi having a tremendous impact on filmmaking history in their own way. 12 Angry Men is obviously a must watch. It is crazy good and still relevant to this day. I think even casual film watchers will enjoy it. Watching this felt like Film School 101 but still a fun experience. It's not like my favourite thing ever but there is literally no reason to not give a 5.

I was an MCU fanboy at school but now I don't like their projects and what they're doing in the film industry. Cash grabbing, thoughtless, emotionless films or shows isn't what I want from Marvel. I also don't think cameos or sneak-peak scenes for another sequel or EVERY SINGLE DIALOGUE BEING A REFERENCE TO SOMETHING is the way to write a movie, but that seems like the way to get into the box office nowadays.

Rewatching this in 4k was absolutely needed. Dunkirk might have the best cinematography out of a Nolan film and that says a lot. Thought it was wild when I found this didn't win Best Cinematography in the Oscars 'til I found out who actually won it that year. My eyes were treated with so many beautiful imagery but those that captured the terror of war. Nolan's most underrated film by a mile and one of my favourites now as I've almost rewatched all of them again.
