  I liked this less and less as it went on.

  In the beginning I was on board because everything felt so weird and unique. I was very interested in understanding the world and its rules. But ultimately, the world is thin and joyless. 

  Nothing in this movie made me feel anything. At best I was mildly uncomfortable with some of the nihilism at times.

  The humour just didn’t hit. I was in a pretty full cinema and I don’t think…

  Companion 2025

  If Eminem ft. Rhianna’s 2010 smash hit ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and a grade 8 student’s essay about feminism procreated, you would get Companion.

  Cheap and predictable gimmick.

  Bonus points for some fairly funny jokes peppered throughout. 

  Points deducted for one of the worst instances of not knowing when to end a film. 

  Don’t rush out to see this one!

  This movie is fucking ass. 

  At no point did I know: 

  1. Who anyone was. 
  2. What side they were on.
  3. What they were doing. 
  4. Why they were doing it. 

  YET 

  This isn’t because it’s some elaborate, sophisticated time travel movie. The time travel is the easiest part to understand (because it’s dumb as fuck, it’s literally just an excuse to have 1 car chase scene with a backwards car crash, 1 backwards building explosion and 1 backwards…

  I was looking forward to this in the same way I look forward to a new Guardian’s of the Galaxy film. A roster of colourful, funny characters killing monsters in space. 

  However, my hopes for an enjoyable 1.5 hours in the cinema were dashed in the first 5 minutes when I realised that this film was likely largely written (or completely written) by AI.
