  I definitely enjoyed this, but it occurred to me at some point that Refn possibly considers this to be the girl version of Valhalla Rising (Los Angeles Rising?), which is... not terribly generous to women. Of course, LA is a setting which amplifies the superficiality, vanity, and cattiness that are apparently latent in all women, just as the hostile wilderness of Valhalla Rising pushes masculinity to its own extremes. Neither is terribly flattering but GODDAMN do they make for visually gorgeous movies.
