  From a cinematographic standpoint, it’s neither vivid, nor masterful. But all of that aesthetic takes a backseat to the brilliant acting that cuts right through you, leaving you with goosebumps.

  He showed that a western can be more moving than any drama. The actors don’t just act — they live their roles.
  Wenders shoots films as if we’ve stumbled into them by chance and now have the chance to speak to the characters ourselves.

  Everyone has their own Travis, their own Jane.
  Everyone has their own Paris, Texas.

  Vasily's dance in the middle of the film, very strong acting - sublimation of feelings. 

  Overall, it is a great example of Soviet cinema from an Oscar winning director Vladimir Menshov
