It’s so close to being amazing. I thought this was an interesting western about masculinity, with an interesting turn by John Wayne. Unfortunately, there are a few scenes that portray native Americans and Mexicans in a dated fashion. I also felt the ending was very rushed

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie 2024
I really dug the hand drawn animation. We don’t see that with American animation anymore. It was funny, but not every joke landed, and the story was about as deep as I thought it would be. In terms of hand drawn animation, it’s no studio ghibli, but it’s still a fun time.

The Phantom of the Opera 1925
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved this. I would highly recommend watching the last drive in version on shudder as I actually learned a lot about the making of the film. I loved the sets, music, costumes, and even a sequence where they tested out color in film. It might not be for most modern audiences, but it is still an amazing history lesson in film.

As someone who’s had anxiety since I was at least five, I really appreciated and related to what this film did to the point some of it brought me to tears. However, if you look at this for answers as an adult to fix it, it might not give you that, but it can be helpful for kids. I wish I had this when I was a kid, maybe things would have been different for me. To end on a lighter, glad to see Ron Funches working, dude is a comedic genius, and can make any line funny
