My initial review of ‘Oppenheimer’ was relatively lukewarm, although I still gave it four stars. Yet, it’s a movie that stuck in my head as I found Oppenheimer to be a fascinating figure. Eventually, I decided to read the biography ‘American Prometheus’ (on which the film is primarily based) and give this film another chance now knowing more about Oppenheimer’s real life. This time around, I unreservedly love the film and consider it to be another high point in Christopher…

Not that it’s the only good part of this movie, but Hugh Grant carries ‘Heretic’ on his back. Better known for his romantic comedy roles, Grant seamlessly transitions into a villainous character here. Honestly, I’m not surprised he excels in such a role. Just as charm is key to a successful rom-com lead, it’s equally important for a charismatic villain—especially one who initially appears harmless as he welcomes his unsuspecting victims into his home.

Although I’m far from an expert on the Oscars, ‘Anora’ feels like it must be the most unhinged film ever to win the coveted Best Picture award. That’s not a complaint—I had a blast with this movie. It’s a wildly entertaining, high-energy thrill ride with hardly a dull moment, packed with sharp humor and audacious storytelling. Mikey Madison delivers a star-making performance, and the rest of the cast—most of whom are little-known to American audiences—bring an authenticity that makes the…
