    Pure, unfiltered 90s. It's incredible to see a well-acted, well-shot movie with exactly one twist, which the film then expects will carry the rest of the movie. And it does!

    Up and down, across the board, people say they want a true artistic vision in cinema. And now that they've got one, they're saying it's "too weird" and it "doesn't make sense."

    It's bonkers, it's ugly, it's too long. Sure, sure, sure. I found it very easy to overlook these so-called flaws. I found it a mostly enjoyable experience to have zero idea of what was coming next. Here's a list of things I liked:

    I keep thinking about the opening with Hezbollah. It's meant to establish that being a producer for 60 Minutes is a tough job that takes brass balls, getting an interview with terrorists in a warzone. And then the movie has a visual callback from the offices of CBS, where Central Park gets treated to the same wide shot as Beirut, and you see the connection. The war was all around us.
