Tried to watch this once on my phone and gave up 10 minutes in and I’m happy that I did. Being able to see it in a theater, in that seat I felt I was my teenager self again. The awkwardness of middle school, good and bad, all coming back to me like a hidden memory. Only this time I’m not embarrassed but get to reflect and look at how much I’ve grown.

Amélie 2001
Dreaming is so important and I find myself doing it in just about any situation. But those times when I stopped just dreaming, realized my bones weren’t made of glass, and went for it, are some of the best times.
Maybe they were a lil stinky ;) but they’ll still be my favorites.
Amelie reminded me of that joy and nervousness when your dreams are only inspired by that one person, and how it feels when you go for it.
:)

Poor Things 2023
This is one of the movies you can live without seeing in your life. Nothing to take away. Nothing I want to remember.

Frances Ha 2012
I really liked how the the movie dealt with connection. The use of addresses to divide Frances life really digs into that. Even though it was a different setting, she was always connected with the people she cared about, good or bad.
The passing felt so surprising. There’s no real indicator but some holidays and we don’t even know how many years have past and that’s just like life. It just flows while you still hold on to emotions you have of others, like rocks in the middle of your river.
Really enjoyable and delicate.
