Late Night with the Devil 2023
This is one of those movies that has some flaws and I don't think the climax fully comes together in a satisfying way, but I still really enjoyed it all the way through. They went through a lot of effort to emulate the look and feel of 70's talk shows and it's just fun to watch.
David Dastmalchian has always been a great bit character actor but he was fantastic in the lead role here. Charismatic but still able to…

Oppenheimer 2023
Super late to finally watching this but I loved it. Cillian Murphy was incredible as expected, but why are more people not talking about Josh Hartnett's performance here? Dude completely stole the movie every time he showed up. Also Ludwig went off with the score holy shit. The music during the Trinity Test reminded me of Philip Glass.

The Handmaiden 2016
Where I come from, it's illegal to be naive.
Damn, this was WILD. Park Chan-Wook has got me absolutely shook with this one. Such a beautiful love story wrapped in betrayal and deceit. First hour or so makes it seem pretty standard and then it just piles on more and more layers from different perspectives with new twists being thrown left and right. The score was incredible too, and it made me tear up just from the music alone at times but combine that with powerful scenes like Sook-hee destroying the library and it was just overwhelming in the best way. Absolutely loved it.

The Farewell 2019
This was a lot more wholesome and optimistic than I was expecting it to be. It definitely has plenty of emotional scenes, but there was a lot of lighthearted humor and levity too. It's a beautiful movie about being there for your family and enjoying your time together while you can.
I didn't have much of a relationship with my grandparents so it didn't really resonate with me much in that way, but it's impossible not to feel for Billi's…
