Pretty solid Home Invasion horror/thriller. As a part of the French extremity movement of the 2000s I was surprised by the lack of gore but the actual content of the film is scarier than most of the era. The sound design here is really superb and definitely what I could point to as the film’s biggest strength. For as short as the movie is the pacing does still drag at times but I fear that simply comes with the territory…

It was Hitchcock who said the only three things you needed to make a great film were “the script, the script, and the script.” and Conclave is a testament to that.
