on another note: at the sundance screening an angry photojournalist (fox butterfield) stood up and tried to debate the filmmakers and it was kinda awesome because i was sitting right next to this argumentative man and i couldnt leave, still in that situation, still sitting here, fox is angrily chatting to his neighbor. felt historic.Translated from by -

Barber Westchester 2021
Wacky cartoons are an insanely good medium. I think every drama should be drawn in a silly way so people can get over themselves. Facial expressions, characters, environments, all can be processed through a drawing style to create meaning that a camera and some real people could never convey. It's sort of sad that animation is used to often replicate reality, rather than represent ideas. I want animation like this, with fluidity and imperfections. That is more real anyway.
