Mostly entertaining and lots of suspenseful buildup. Not sure what was supposed to be the surprise reveal but the end somehow didn’t surprise me and could see it coming 2/3 into the film. Still, the politics and backstabbing of the clergyman vying for the papal throne was juicy.

Trite, derivative, and pointless. Tries too hard to appeal to fans of the original  and younger viewers.

Winona Ryder is playing her nervous mom role from Stranger Things and Catherine O’Hara is playing the Moira Rose character to cash in on their more notable popular performances.

Utter crap. And that includes literal crap. The premise is simple, found footage, four friends go camping on the premise of making a music video for one of the four who is a singer. Mojave desert. Not a place to camp for first timers.

This pile of crap doesn’t know what it wants to be. Does it want to be Blair Witch? Fail.
Does it want to be a slasher/serial killer film? Fail.  Does it want to be an alien/unknown…

I’d only heard about the early cable/subscriber network Z Channel; guess it was a west coast thing. It reminded me of a basic cable channel in Atlanta that predated MTV, but for music videos, it showed many alternative and non-commercial artists, with live VJs. Eventually it began to air sports, and pretty soon it was totally sports oriented.

This fascinating documentary about the film obsessive founder of the network and his unfortunate demise due to mental illness is well worth a watch. They somewhat laid the groundwork for films screened the way the director intended.
