Always happy to see another entry in the “eat the rich” genre, but other than that its themes don’t go nearly as deep as it thinks it does. However, Will Poulter has better comedic timing than I ever would’ve guessed so there’s an extra half a star for him alone

Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion 1997
I don’t know if I can say if this ending is better than the original, but it is certainly much easier to digest.
I don’t think I could’ve explained the original ending at all with a gun to my head, but seeing this version in all its cinematic glory… I might be able to explain just a little.
