Never Been Kissed 1999
There was enough humour to make this enjoyable. There's little bits that make a fun time capsule of 1999. The inclusion of Local H's "Cool Magnent" in the soundtrack brought this to 2 stars.

Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States 2012
This series singlehandedly changed my view of the world. Stone's mixing of narrative film is my favorite part of the series, as it shows the importance of art to culture and time periods.
An important thing to think about with this series is, ultimately, the U.S. has certainly done good. Its hard to argue it outdoes the bad...but this film is the "untold" history. It therefore implies knowledge of the "told" history and should therefore be mingled as such. This is not the gospel, but it's the counter argument.

Kevin Smith's comedy and crazy characters are as good as ever and his peronality and style shines through. Other than that this film isn't anything too exciting other than a solid young adult film and definitely a time capsule of the Gen X experience (hearing classic Silverchair is a nice touch).
Kevin Smith knows how to choose his actors.
