  - i think that overall pacing in the theatrical cuts is conventionally „better“, and yet i prefer the extended versions. just finished reading the first book, and one of the main leitmotifs — the (different) passage of time — is not at all represented in this cut. feels like everything happens within two weeks at max.
  - love eowyn so much, she gets less screen time here…first time really noticing how her social stance/storyline parallels that of faramir: a „useless“…

  berlinale 2025 / special gala

  really good, but will inevitably flop :( top-quality sci-fi blockbuster, which also happens to be a satire (?) on america’s grounding myth, and what “new world” stands for. the antagonist being literally trump, i can see why wb were struggling so much to release it. actually crazy how it predicted one of the main political events of last summer.
