Gone with the Wind 1939
I watched this movie just to say I’ve seen it.
I think as a cinematic achievement, it excels (production design, costumes, cinematography was beautiful). And for that I give it 3 stars.
But it did not need to be 4 hours long (could have ended just fine with Scarlett proclaiming “As God as my witness, I’ll never go hungry again”). And dang, can she not take a hint??
I also felt no emotional connection to any of the characters cause they’re all racist slave owners… but that’s a whole other conversation to have about this film and how problematic it is.
