  There are just a few instances I would snip down the runtime, but that's it. This movie was great in every other way that hits you over and over. The Holdovers is easily in my top 3 favorites of 2023.

  Starting a movie with a priest hanging themselves in cemetary maybe some of the hardest shit out there. Whenever you see that priest again, he always has some underlighting that resemble Dracula/gothic tones. I loved that and the set design how everything felt so haunted and creepy. The practical effects were unreal and that bleeding eyes, guts coming out the mouth scene stands the test of time.

  I had an idea of what the underlying plot was but wasn't totally certain. After a quick youtube search I learned, and it makes me appreciate the film more. The idea of a little coven feeding off of the pure beauty within someone is chilling but one that has a bitter truth. It displays what our standards of "beauty" are and I truly feel sorry for the people that make themselves suffer for that crowd. Modeling and things like that…
