Ian Fleming's Bond novels had their problems, sure, but they were pretty revelatory in terms of their matter of fact descriptors, like you're reading a dossier with impeccable detail, and the Craig franchise does more of the footwork for you in terms of questioning Bond's character traits than ever before, but it doesn't give us anything new or interesting to chew on with Spectre.
