When Keeping It Spielberg Goes Wrong™
The gulf between the pedigree of the supporting cast and the disaster of the two leads is kinda astounding. I know Brian Cox does McDonald's commercials and everything, but the more the names pile up, the sadder it gets. Colman Domingo was especially heartbreaking, even if just for 60 seconds... Get that bag, I guess.
I did have to rewind when Stanley Tucci dropped "Our world is a tire fire floating on an ocean of piss." Absolute bar. Can't argue.
If you stop watching after cold open, this is the best Scream in a long time! But then the rest of the movie happens...
Every Scream has been pretty good at identifying the cinematic trope they're inhabiting. "We're in a sequel!", "We're in a trilogy!", etc. This seems to be where the inspiration has finally run out, as the best the characters come up with is "We're in a... nother sequel?"

I liked this so much more than the first one, which I actually find to be kind of annoying. This keeps everything you love, applies a modern budget and techniques for superior (but still old-school feeling) effects, and adds in some great new supporting characters... one of which, dare I say, almost steals the movie from The Juice.
