Vegas is all about ‘Out with the old and in with the new.’ As someone who grew up here, nothing historical really gets preserved. Excluding the Neon Museum and a few casinos downtown, historical landmarks are frequently demolished to make room for the new. Casinos where Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald once performed are forgotten and nonexistent. Shelly's story represents that bygone era of the Vegas entertainment industry that is rarely preserved or recognized today.
