A hazy slice-of-life coming-of-age story that doesn't engage in the usual tropes of the genre. The characters are all endearing, and the end-result is as sleepy as they are, but in the best possible way. It's authentically feel-good, without ever straying into the saccharine, and it's shot beautifully. A new favourite comfort film.

"Life is what you make it, being a pervert is just one way of life"
A four-hour fever dream of catholic guilt, brainwashing cults, and kung-fu upskirt photography. There's a borderline sitcom style plotline where the main character can only romance the love of his life when dressed in drag, and more screentime dedicated to an erection than to a large percentage of the supporting cast.
It's art, it's garbage, it's a surprisingly good time.
