I really like Anthony Hopkins but I had not watched this movie because the theme did not thrill me. Due to a recommendation I watched it and found it amusing, sweet (not sickening sweet), entertaining and a generally feel good fun movie.
Anthony Hopkins is a different kind of great than usual, playing in the true story of a good natured New Zealander who you would like to have as a neighbor.

I found the series overall a pretty accurate look at the life many people seem to experience, different details, of course. I ask myself what choices I might have made in the same circumstances, more so of Ethan Hawke’s character. At a point in my own life I enjoyed observing personalities and relationships. It felt like the movie validated many of those observations.
I think the actors did a really good job carrying the weight of a three part series and being consistently on camera in almost every shot.Translated from by
