    This was monumental.
Can't verbally explain how truly remarkable Les Rendez-vous d'Anna is. The whole train travel scene is most likely one of the most beautifully accomplished scenes I've seen.

Coincidentally, one of the last times I went to the movies, before the lockdown, was to see the documentary Chantal Akerman, From Here. It was an afternoon session and I was the only one in the room. Fairly easy to understand why, it's an one hour interview single shot with Akerman, yet it was worth all my money.

My dear viewers: as we continue I do not feel any guilt making you watch these very personal insignificant moments of my life.
Though everything eventually passes, this very very moment, and the next second we are in another moment and something else happens and everything else is gone, is past, is memory, is memory. But some of the memories... no, they never really go away. Nothing really goes away, it’s always here, and sometimes it takes over you, and…

-Don’t worry, we have special powers

I needed some time before going into this, because I knew I’d make my blood boil.

IDF, you psychotic nazi pieces of shit. You’ll never deserve standing next to the dignity of a Palestinian fighting for their land. Never.
However, you do deserve The Hague.

    Nosferatu

    ★★½

What a disappointment, this was a completely pointless exercise. I couldn’t really believe the lack of creativity through and through. Even Orlok was upsettingly plain and boring. Eggers could really have taken a note or two and ask William Dafoe how to portrait a “Nosferatu” -(Shadow of the Vampire), because he was clearly lost and clueless.

I can't stop thinking about this scene where Héloïse asks Marianne if she thinks all lovers feel like they're inventing something. Well, I don't know the answer to that, but I'm fairly certain Céline Sciamma just invented a new cinematic language, one you can't distinguish between tenderness and desire.

I am so happy that this is the last movie I'll watch this year and in this decade.

Grandmother, when I was born your absence already took up space, but I couldn't feel it. When my mother died, me and my father met in the absence of the word "mother". At that time, my father's eyes stopped being green and I know the memories of you opened the doors he had locked. I realized there was a part of my father that I had never known: the part he was with you, the part that disappears with the…
