Ok I think this movie is better than what I wanted to rate it right after watching (1.5 stars). I think I just rewatched it too soon after my previous viewing.
Generally, this is a brilliant subversion of the genre and raises interesting questions about what is “fair” in love. The viewer will automatically follow the protagonist’s viewpoint from the beginning (because of the perceived genres storytelling conventions), and without further reflection, can easily feel that he was wronged by Summer.

This movie is the perfect blend of an utterly childish feel-good Hallmark staple and a fantastical populist wet dream. Not only a bad movie but watchers are likely both dumber and equipped with an even larger tinfoil hat for having watched.
