Control Freak 2025
Creepy. The ants were thoroughly distressing. Good creature design. Apt metaphor on generational traumas being pass down. And I'm all for a Kelly Marie Tran masterclass showcase. There was this scene where she mulls over whether to cut her own hand or not. I honestly had no idea where it was going, and I was on the edge of my seat. Good movie.

Last Breath 2025
Feels hollow. I thought the claustrophobia and tension in the middle portion of the story while they were underwater before the inevitable separation were the best parts. I did get bored quite often in this showing. In general, I appreciate showing the process of professions being portrayed on screen so in that regard it was worth watching. But the drama and contrived instances between the bell and the boat did nothing for me to keep my attention. I haven't seen the documentary this was based on but I think that would've been a better watch. Maybe next time.

This is silly.
