  Jumping off from the original, genuinely creepy Stephen King short story, this film evolves from the story quite well. The main problem for this film is the problem that affects most PG-13 horror. Everything is so dark and fast moving that you can't make out much of anything.   Why does this film have any acclaim??

  Pointless, pretentious drivel. If I could burn the original negatives, I probably would. Completely memorable and forgettable at the same time.

  I knew I wouldn’t like the film when it first came out, but I gave it a chance 15 years later and it’s exactly what I thought it was. Pretentious torture porn and total overhyped BS, that acts like it has something to say, when it most definitely doesn’t. A Serbian Film is WAY better and at least has a dope soundtrack, while the soundtrack here is forgettable. You might as well nailgun yourself for 99 minutes instead.

  The Other Side of the Mirror 1973

  While the premise is interesting, in typical Jess Franco fashion, the film crawls at a snail’s pace with only the occasional good shot to keep one’s hopes up.  Ultimately it never delivers and falls victim to overly drawn out scenes to pad the runtime and is laced with poor overall execution.  It makes one wonder why or how Jess Franco has any fans at all.  A great film if you’re having trouble sleeping.
