  An entertaining thriller driven by outstanding performances from Bates and Caan. I also loved the side characters of the Sheriff and his wife, they brought some levity to what is otherwise a tense and unnerving film.

  Everything about Oppenheimer is BIG, which fits the subject matter perfectly. Nolan sets up the film in the first 45 minutes at a frantic pace switching between time periods.

  Once we get into the heart of the film, we are treated to a visual and sonic spectacle of grand proportions.

  Marnie 1964

  ★★★½ Rewatched 13 Mar 2025

  On re-watch, it does feel like Hitch revelled in Mark’s controlling treatment of Marnie’s trauma as an experiment for him to solve. This makes Marnie such an unsettling watch.

  And while some parts haven’t aged well, there’s enough there in its hypnotic execution to make Marnie a character worth understanding.
