Watching this only confirmed for me that award nominations are rigged.
This film is "the friend that's too woke," except it miserably failed even at that. I have never seen a film work so counterproductively against the very groups that it's supposed to be representing before. It is hard not to think of this movie as right-wing propaganda especially when it came out during the year of the biggest election for both groups that the movie focuses on.
