  some say the true prisoners of the movie are the ones in the audience, it’s so hard to watch for a ton of reasons (it’s pacing, torture scenes, predictably and so forth) however a stella performance from jake gyllenhaal and hugh jackman are enough to keep me seated. 

  it’s got some amazing shots scattered in but relies on morbid curiosity to keep the engine running and takes far too long to unravel

  I’ve been an absolute fan of this movie since learning of it’s inception a couple of years ago its premise seemed incredibly unique with a great cast uplifting it but after tonight it’s tough to consider myself a fan of such a highly anticipated film.

  How this movie has a 4.4 star rating is beyond me, its utterly squandered any potential of being a great movie with its blatant misogyny, rape scenes, incest and final twist which has no substance other then shock value.
