I wish they hadn’t told us like a year in advance that Red Hulk was in it, and I wish Sharon Carter was in it.

But other than that I had a good time. Lot of exposition but I was never bored. The action was dope, and I like what they’re doing with Sam Wilson and making him an inspirational figure/not giving him the serum. Also love that the first thing you see him do is save people. Love my super heroes being heroic.

I’m not a body horror guy so I don’t have a lot to compare this to in the genre but I thought it was awesome. Incredibly disgusting but I couldn’t stop looking at it.

Love the performances, though had no one told me Demi Moore was getting Oscar buzz I wouldn’t have come to that conclusion myself. But ultimately I think it’d be a fine nomination if it happens.

I also really appreciate the commentary here not being subtle at all. There’s a time and place for subtlety, obviously, but I don’t think a movie like this needs to be subtle.

What Spielberg pulled off is something really fucking hard to do.

Usually semi-autobiographies are hard because people don’t know how to pull the essential bits of their life story together to make a cohesive narrative that’s interesting. Armageddon Time fucking fumbled it. Belfast worked cause Branagh was telling basically 1 specific story. But Spielberg covers a huge chunk of time while keeping the story together and making it feel like an intimate family drama.

God that shit was dope. I fucking love movies man. A+
