The true standout performance, rivaling that of the lead Mr. Fraiser, was Mr. Lance Oppenheim as Julian – one of the titular whale’s virtual pupils. Mr. Oppenheim’s expressiveness upon learning that his revered instructor is, in fact, a dying 300 pound man, was exquisite.
