SLC Punk 1998
Having lived in Salt Lake City from 2002 - 2013, I admit this movie hit a lot close to home. I wasn’t, however, an anarchist punk, but I am an atheist and a socialist; Utah is really a tough place to live if you’re not a fascist, or a religious nut, or loving snow eight months a year. I will also confirm how this movie portrays Utah’s bizarre liquor laws and trips to Wyoming to get real beer.
This movie is hilarious and insightful. It’s about being alienated for being a minority and I can relate.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 2008
I’ve never read F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story, but I will assume it’s one of those that should never have been made into a movie. Sure, the main plot is bizarre and interesting enough that I can see why it would be turned into a film. But what else can you do with a nearly three hour run time while you’re waiting for him to age backwards? A very tedious and not all that interesting product we have here.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012
I can relate to some of this as I was bullied in school and didn’t have many friends. But, I was a lot more assertive than Charlie is in this movie and that’s where our similarities end. This is a very heartfelt film and is recommended.
