  An ugly man who buys sex, builds ugly buildings, and deprives the human need for beauty. All the good performances in the world won’t take away from the fact I spent 3 and a half hours watching this for the moral to just be zionism and heroin’s ability to rekindle a relationship

  I think this film, despite at times falling into cliche, has a genuine heartfelt love of her voice that makes it work for me. Unfortunately I did not like the Mandrax character. He wasn’t handsome, or scary, or seductive, or creepy, or sweet, or innocent, or anything that I’d want to see from a hallucination.

  Just poor casting of his character. Still liked the movie quite a bit

  Kinda one of those films that is exploitative but in a meta way where it makes the audience question their own culpability, but the film is still doing the thing it’s supposed to be against. Stunningly beautiful and only occasionally cringy. I liked it
