What many people don’t realise is that the film’s title has a double meaning. Everyone knows it’s about the King’s big speech at the end, but not many people know that it’s also about his speech impediment. The film should have been called The King’s Speech Impediment to avoid this confusion.

Happy Feet 2006
Thoroughly disturbing. I felt like I was watching an AI YouTube video designed to indoctrinate 6 year olds into far-right ideology. The budget was enough to end homelessness for 10% of the UK population and yet it still managed to, generally speaking, look like shit. It felt racist in parts? The jukebox musical aspects of it exposed an overwhelming lack of artistic vision. That said, I appreciated the anti-transphobic messaging and I liked the strong Christian overtones throughout. Unsure why this deserved a sequel but I’m happy George Miller is frequently given such platforms despite hegemonic capitalism working against him.
